understanding your story

Individual

AEDP, EFT and CBT are used to meet clients where they are. Clients can expect to either dive deeper into their emotional awareness, understanding patterns, blocks to connecting with others and how past experiences shape who they are today or gain practical coping tools, expand awareness of behaviors and emotions.

Trauma informed: Whether big or little, working through traumatic experiences is important so that you don’t feel stuck. I will help guide you, at your pace, to find healing from these experiences. I use a combination of AEDP and Branspotting.

Couples

For couples stuck in what feels like a never ending cycle of the same fight, feeling unseen or under appreciated, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is a research backed model I utilize to help couples understand their unique cycle. We will work together to change this into a more positive and connecting cycle of interaction. I don’t take sides. I help each partner slow down, really hear what’s underneath the arguments, and learn new ways to reach for each other. With in-session practice you and your partner will learn healthier ways of communicating and feel a deeper sense of love and connection.

Family

Families often come to me looking for support with one or more members feeling distressed or divisive. Whether it’s constant bickering or lack of communication all together, I work to support healthy communication through supporting each family member to share their experience in a safe setting.

Sometimes this is only two or three members of one family and other times, more. Due to the complexity of family dynamics, I only see families in person, in the state of Minnesota.

Book

“The drama of love is all about this hunger for safe emotional connection, a survival imperative we experience from the cradle to the grave. Loving connection is the only safety nature ever offers us.”

Past client review:

“My husband and I worked with Amber for 2 years and she was phenomenal! She helped us through so much and I truly don’t think we would be where we are today without her. We communicate so much more and more effectively with the help of Amber and all of the tools she had given us. She truly listened and was able to pull things out of us that we didn’t even know was there. She is definitely in the right profession! We love her and are sad to end our journey with her- & we are only doing so because we are moving.”
